The family trip to FL was great. Much needed! The drive down on Friday seemed fast. Took us a little over 7 hours, only a couple of pee breaks. Got down there, went straight to a friend's house to stay the night. Ended up going to a happy hour/oyster bar for a couple of hours until my parents met up with us. After they had their share of happy hour, we left to go to an Irish pub/pizza place. The night ended early for me but the party continued at the friend's house we were staying till about 1am (he broke out the Jimmy Buffett Margarita machine). Got up on Saturday, got packed and headed to the condo. Adam and I spent the day at the pool waiting on check in (we didn't want to get all "sandy" then unpack). Slowly my parents and David and Shannon arrived. After some light rain, we were able to move in to the condo. Everyone got unpacked and settled and we had dinner and played a game. Sunday we spent all day at the beach. Madi had both men wrapped around her finger.
David and Ad helped her build an American sand castle.
And Ad helped her jump waves.
The night ended with games again. Monday, came too quickly, but we got up and left. It was my turn to drive back but again, the ride seemed quick. Upon getting in town, we went and picked up Benny. He was really excited to see us. He was so tired though, he was useless for a couple of days.
We did go to the doctor on Friday and after many questions, everything is going well. I know more of what to expect and am more prepared to make decisions regarding the birth process now. I feel really confident with my midwife and am excited about the journey ahead. The biggest news (besides my weight) was they are now delivering at Northside Cumming. Now we have two hospitals to choose from- Emory John's Creek or Northside Cumming. The difference right now- Northside is a lot closer but I know Emory better. We are going to tour both then decide. My fundal height was 26" (right on) and she has a healthy heartbeat. Funny story with the heartbeat- my MW was exploring trying to find it, she had found the pulse from the placenta but was searching for Kinsley's heartbeat- well she found it. As soon as she did she was like "quit laughing" told her that wasn't me- that Kinsley was telling her to quit poking her- ended up what she thought was me laughing was actually Kinsley having the hiccups LOL. She's an active one! She definitely has a sleep/wake schedule now. Adam can even put his ear up to my stomach and hear her tossing around. Today, I had a moment- she's about a foot long- so I held up a ruler to my stomach and am just amazed that something that big (yet small) is in my belly! Day by day, daily activities are getting harder. Sitting up, bending over, all are challenging now. Adam has been wonderful though!
Saturday we woke up, had my dad come over and help us put up the decal on the pink wall. Took us just about 4 hours but I think it was well worth it! I'm so excited to get everything up and in there now (including Kinsley).
I had to leave a little prematurely from that project to go to a baby shower for a friend. It was nice to talk to someone that is pregnant too. She's having a boy so everything was blue- change for me. She's about 5 weeks ahead of me so we had a lot of discussions of "what to expects". Got me really excited for my showers!
Immediately following that, we went to Slade's First Annual Block Party. Slade is a very good friend of ours. He decided to host a party "just because". It was great to see a lot of Duluth folks get together and hang out. It was so hot and sometimes uncomfortable for me but so much fun too. Everyone was definitely interested in how I was doing and many of congratulations for Adam and I. Kinsley has no idea what she's about to join LOL. Preggo got tired so we ended up leaving his place around 10 pm. But apparently the party continued well into the 4 o'clock hour.
Sorry so long- we've been busy!
